High Elder - H E
The High Elder is the "leader" and face of the entire Brotherhood of Steel and the Council of Elders.
Elder - ELDR
The Elders form the Brotherhood's ruling council. The position of Elder is one of the most difficult positions to earn, requiring long term service and dedication to the Brotherhood that goes far beyond what is asked of them. They must show that it is in their character to lead and make wise decisions based on critical examination of information. Members of the council have surpassed all others on their road to greatness and so they are granted the title of Elder.
General - GEN
Generals control all of the Brotherhood's military. Generals report to the High Elder and the Elder Council and will only make a move if it is approved by them. The title of General is obtained by showing outstanding performance in military tactics and combat. Generals help decide the titles of the most promising recruits from Initiates and Squires all the way up to the Head Paladin and Head Knight.
Sentinel - STNL
Sentinel is a rank issued to those in command of special operations divisions.
Head Paladin - H P
The Head Paladin is responsible for dealing with Paladins in the same way the Head Knight deals with Knights, but the Head Paladin chooses which Paladins should lead each Knight squad. The Head Paladin holds meetings with the High Elder, Elders, Generals, and Head Knight. Both the Head Knight and Head Paladin report to the High Elder and Generals, no one else.
Arc Paladin - APLN
Arc Paladin control groups of Paladins and meet together with Knight Commanders to discuss battle plans, tactics, and other important matters. Paladin Commanders report directly to the Head Paladin.
Paladin - PLN
Paladins are a class of Knights in the Brotherhood of Steel. Paladins appointed to lead squads of Knights in and out of any situation. If not assigned to lead a Knight squad, Paladins are expected to carry on their duties as usual and take the initiative and take charge when necessary.
Head Knight - H K
The Head Knight is responsible for allocating Knights to missions. The Head Knight is also responsible for reporting all incidents involving the Knights to the Generals, Elders, or High Elder (depending on the severity of the situation.) The Head Knight is also present at meetings with the High Elder, Elders, Generals, and Head Paladin.
Knight Commander - KCDR
Knight Commanders control groups of Knights in the Brotherhood, usually there are one or two captains under their command. Knight Commanders also meet with Paladin Commanders to discuss battle plans. Knight Commanders report to the Head Knight.
Knight Captain - KCPT
Knight Captains have full command of a company of Knights and Paladins and take orders only from a Sentinel or Elder. As leader, a Knight Captain is free to take part in major operations or a large field of leadership.
Knight Sergeant - KSGT
Knight Sergeants are in command of one to three squads of Knights and Paladins.
Knight - KGHT
Knights are the mainline fighting force of the Brotherhood. After prolonged service and experience, the greatest and best of the Knights are issued the title of Paladin, the pinnacle of the Brotherhood military.
Aspirant - ASPT
Aspirant are Initiates who have completed initial training and who are ready to move on to more advanced training.
Initiate - IN
Initiates are members who are undergoing basic training. Initiates receive training in the use of weapons and in combat.
